The Red Tower of Pärnu holds the story of medieval Uus-Pärnu and the tower itself. However, navigating the narrow medieval tower with a group on your own can be quite challenging, and some of the stories it hides might be overlooked.
Museum workers and certified guides of the Red Tower are here to tell you its stories and help you to get around. We recommend to book a guided tour, which can be tailored to your group’s time preferences and interests.
During a tour in the Red Tower, the tower is open to your group only. We kindly ask you to arrive on time.
The tower can hold approximately 20 people at a time, so for groups of 21-40, we recommend to book a parallel tour in the city. It is also possible to arrive in parts.
For children’s groups, we kindly ask to bring one adult chaperone for every 9 children.

FORGOTTEN TOWN
A walk in the medieval town will end in the Red Tower.
Duration: 1.5 hours (of which approx. 1 hour is the tour).
No. of participants: up to 25 people
Fee:
55 € per group + museum tickets per person.
The walking tour in the city introduces the medieval Uus-Pärnu. The erstwhile Hanseatic town is not noticeable in the modern cityscape, since most of the historical city centre was destroyed in World War II. The only surviving medieval building is the Red Tower, which used to stand in the southeastern corner of the city wall. Nevertheless, many street names, markings of wall elements and locatsions of former buildings can give us some idea of the bygone Uus-Pärnu (New-Pärnu).
The tour begins either in the courtyard of the Red Tower or in front of the main building of Pärnu Museum (Aida 3), and ends with a session in the panoramic cinema of the tower.
